Intercambio académico con la Royal Thimphu College (RTC) en Bután-1

Academic exchange at Royal Thimphu College (RTC) University in Bhutan

Posted in Lectures, conferences and workshops

During the international week at Royal Thimphu College (RTC) University in Bhutan, IDarte teachers in Gasteiz had the opportunity to participate in an exciting academic exchange through the Erasmus program. This unique experience allowed us to immerse ourselves in an educational environment completely different from our own and to establish meaningful links with colleagues from all over the world.

One of the highlights of our visit was the workshop offered by Iker Etxaburu, entitled “Web Design Basics”. In this workshop, participants had the opportunity to delve into the fundamentals of web design and explore the latest trends and techniques in this constantly evolving field.

In addition, during our stay, we promoted knowledge and education in various aspects. For example, in the case of Iker Etxaburu, his introductory workshops on HTML and CSS programming language were especially targeted at women and young students at the center, with the aim of encouraging their participation in STEAM fields and empowering them in the technological field.

Our colleague Eneko Besa gave a workshop on “Creative Teaching”, aimed at RTC teachers through the Centre for Innovative Teaching and Learning (CITL). This workshop focused on innovative strategies to promote active learning and critical thinking in the classroom, providing participants with new tools to enrich their teaching practice.

In all cases we sought to inspire new ways of teaching that promote creativity, innovation and critical thinking among students and teachers.

In addition, we took the opportunity to present the IDarte School of Design and its studies, as well as to share information about the Basque Country, highlighting its historical, social and demographic characteristics, and promoting cultural exchange between our two regions.

During our stay, we also had the opportunity to interact with professors from Palacký University in Olomouc, with whom we shared enriching activities and experiences. These exchanges allowed us not only to share knowledge, but also to establish lasting relationships for future collaborative projects.

In addition to academic activities, we also had the opportunity to explore the culture and natural beauty of Bhutan. We stayed at RTC’s picturesque campus in Timphu, where we were able to experience local university life and learn about the country’s customs and traditions up close. We also visited Paro, where we were amazed by its breathtaking scenery and rich cultural history.

In summary, our stay at Royal Thimphu College University was an enriching and highly recommended experience that allowed us to learn, share and grow both personally and professionally. We hope that this exchange is only the beginning of a fruitful and long-lasting collaboration between our institutions.

Workshop-Consulting with our Dutch Friends

Posted in Lectures, conferences and workshops

Today, May 15, 2023, we have been visited by students from Alfa-college in Groningen, and their teachers, Rink van Dijk and Bert Huitsing.

They have participated in a collaborative workshop, helping the students of Projects and Construction of the second year of Interior Design to develop our Aterpe Project in the garden just beside our School in Betoño.

We have called it Workshop-Consulting

Of course, we have taken a break to have a picnic precisely in the same place where we are developing our project.
